The whip looks like one of the models made by Jersey Joe; very good quality, but with a solid leather core rather than the steel cable core as used by Morgan and other expensive whipmakers. I've got a smiliar model to yours, but 8 ft rather than the 10 ft model, and paid less than $90.00.

there has been a few of them. mike murphy does make custom whips to that size i believe. if i recall correctly the longest one i have seen was 27 foot. but there have been 22 footers, 20 footers. im sure if you pay em enough they'll make you almost any kinda whip you want

I'm sure they are made custom. I think there is a video on here of someone cracking one that was about 20 feet or longer.

Depending on how much a person weighs, and the momentum of the swing, it is possible.
I certainly would not trust it any further than I would want to fall, and being 200 pounds myself I would not want to damage such an expensive whip.
What you see the whip do in the movies is mostly Hollywood fiction.

Where is the best place to purchase a good whip, and what can one expect to pay? I'm looking for a whip just like the one in the video.

My 10 footer was purchased from the David Morgan catalog company, for a 10 foot model the cost is about $770.00
