Pierre Turgeon scores a goofy goal for his 1000th NHL point. Early in the 1999-2000 season in Edmonton, tricky Pete rung a blueline wrist shot off both posts before dumping the rebound in the net.

Turgeon, who has averaged more than 1 point per game over the span of his brilliant career, became the 55th player in NHL history to reach the mark.

  • I still miss Sneaky Pete, he is right up there with Mike Bossy as favorite Islanders of all time. The guy was just freaking great.

  • So "Sneaky" Pete is your uncle, eh? Pretty cool. Pierre is my favorite NHL'er of all time and my favorite NY Islander of all time.

  • @pimpnerd88 I agree man. I am a Blues fan and he quickly became my favorite player of all time during his tenure with the Blues. He had so much skill and was so humble. His career numbers are Hall worthy and he belongs.

  • @suburbanindie in a perfect world buffalo would have found another way to get lafontaine instead of trading turgeon

  • If this was a perfect world, both Turgeon and Salo would still have been playing for the New York Islanders at the time of this video.

  • juste dommage qu'il ait jamais gagne la coupe!

Rejean Houle a été vraiment tata de l'échanger!!!

  • Where is the video of his Sneaky Pete move?

  • pierre is my hockey coach and his son is on my team

  • It's a shame that Turgeon's career will always be marred by the Dale Hunter mugging. Pete stayed on the perimeter for the rest of his career and essentially was a sniper for hire. I'd love to see him in the Hall, as he will always be my favorite player, but he shunned the spotlight and never won the hardware.

  • nicely done, he was great player
