I have been running for about 16 years. I have only had this calf problem once, and that was coming of a broken ankle injury. This was three years ago. The last two runs, this pain has been coming back. I have changed nothing about my running. I have started to do hiking on the side, doing moderate trekking which works my legs alot. Do you think the combination of hiking and long distance running is wearing out my calves, making the pain come back? Thanks.

@lazzyJames Typically calf tightness is going to come from either not allowing the heel of the foot settle to the ground or from "toeing-off" or pushing off hard with your toes when the foot leaves the ground. Hiking, especially if it's super uphill, could certainly affect you and we'd recommend trying to use for of the whole foot rather than just the forefoot while moving uphill. Also, stretching well after activity will help a ton.
