In this poem I try to deal with the contentious subject of the "N" word used in music and popular culture. I don't subscribe to the idea of the word being fully reclaimed (it still holds much of its old power despite it's "new" spelling). Nor do I think that it should be banned, (banning words leads to censorship). It's a difficult one to call as it has be used in the past to hammer home an effective point, but it's also been used to oppress a people. Maybe it's the controversy that still attracts us all to the word "nigger". The jury is still out on this one...
Very good poetry! It makes a lot of sense! Keep up the good work.
