  • Painting a car at 50 degrees with show the end results when paint eventually dries. It was really TOO cold to lay down a GOOD paint job. Time will tell.

  • I like your attitude ... yes it was cold ... paint is still glossy and bite is good till this day. No chipping or flaking. I will do a follow up video if you like. I love this car and it deserves a real 2 stage paint job. in all honesty the rustoleum paint job is great if you are on a budget, willing to to do the prep work, and spend a lot of time sanding laying down multiple coats, etc. A good paint job is all prep and making sure paint will adhere to the surface.

  • @surrynet

We would all love to give our cars 10k paint jobs but at the end of the day its rockin your car, that you built, with your hands, your labor and your budget. Given my circumstances at the time, the rustoleum paint job was the best route to protect this piece of Americana from dying of cancer. Someday she will get the paint she deserves, but I can assure you it was painted the best it possibly could be given the circumstances

  • what size compressor do you recommend?

  • @Sickness796

  • I knew that was a 68 galaxie from the first second I clicked on this video, I used to have a gold 68 galaxie LTD when I was 4, no it did not run but it was mine for the summer before my dad took the engine and transmission out of it then we got rid of the car to the junk yard. I wish I still had that car I would have restored it. That paint looks nice!

  • Whats the mixing ratio?

  • sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, so damn tired of seeing $50 rustoleum paint job videos when there not. a compressor + gun +rustoleum is not a $50 paint job. i know there are roller and rattle can vidz but everyone uses there damn cell phone cam so I cant see shit

  • Hey, from a body man/ painter perspective your going to screw yourself over in the long run... When you finally decide to get real automotive paint on there the oil base and automotive paint going to cause a chemical reaction and mess up everything causing bubbling, and peeling. Then your going to be paying for labor stripping off the rustoleum paint! But good luck!

  • If you dont put any hardner in the paint the next time you go to paint it ,it will lift and wrinkle which you will have to spend a lot more money to strip the paint off of it to paint it correctly the next time.....just a heads up

  • @sabordobruin1 Well said, point well taken

  • Wonder how much dirt and trash from the ground is in the paint. Because even a high dollar downdraft paint booth will get trash in the paint, but looks like you did a great job
