The Master of Arts in Heritage Resources Program holds a heritage education activity on Creole culture for 5th graders from L.P. Vaughn elementary school at St. Augustine Catholic Church and at Badin-Roque Historic Site in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. There were three learning stations at each site devoted to various aspects of Creole culture.
The activity was made possible by a ULS Learn and Serve grant that extended the program's heritage education activities to under-served schoolsand brought attention to an extraordinarily important historic site that was recently placed on Louisianas Most Endangered List.
