  • I suffer from depersonalization disorder every time I have to study. I just don't feel like being in my body or my mind at the moment. It's probably because I am lazy and would rather do something else. As for people who have it on a daily basis, it is probably from loneliness. And it is so portrayed in the film too. The guy's parents or brother don't love him. The "girl of his dreams" won't accept him as he is. Shrinks are portayed as SCUM OF THE EARTH THAT THEY ARE, they care only for money.

  • @diegofany23 True, it can be from any traumatic event.

  • @testiclecrusher2

is not always by smoking marijuana or any kind of shitty drug.

  • @Mattyc0nn1 It's not permanent. Dp is merely a symptom of anxiety. Cure the anxiety and you cure the dp. And lay off the marijuana for good.

  • A must watch IMHO especially as it's so broad if u analyze it.Big Pharma plays into it,"The Psych" role...DP comes with BZ w/d on and off.If it sucked u in like me then there's something to be gleamed from this under-rated Gem. Matt plays the part like he knows it ;)

  • It's a good film. I thought it wouldn't be. I have/ suffer from DP and its not all about that- it isnt even totally clear what happens at the end- is he going to recover?- etc.

Its not an -amazing- movie in normal ways. Its good. but ITS ABOUT DP. And that makes it one of the most amazing movies i've ever seen. Everyones experience is different- but i definately had moments of deja-vu, flashbacks etc watching this film.

Thank you to Matthew Perry for taking part.

  • His character basically was me, I had to turn it off cause it was too real. I was with this amazing girl who I couldnt fall in love with as the disorder stopped me from feeling. she eventually left me and after about 8 months my depersonalization went in a low and I got 4 years of pain at once, was in so much emotional pain it gave me a seizure and I almost died. arnt our brains just GREAT !

  • Ugh god I went through DP when I was 13 years old as a reaction to a medication and I still haven't fully recovered from it despite being taken off the meds a few months after it started. Most of the time I'm pretty normal, but when I get tired or when I go outside or drive or something it can come back. It's like the most hellish existence ever and no one understands what the fuck you're going through.

  • @Mattyc0nn1 you don't know that. It could get better.
