Something extraordinary is happening in one of Australia's great remaining wilderness areas. The Australian Wildlife Conservancy, an independent non-profit organisation, is purchasing important tracts of land in a desperate attempt to stem the tide of animal extinctions, before it is too late. Watch this video, narrated by Murray Jennings, to find out how you can help.

  • We walked through this area and were amazed at the almost total deforestation caused by continuous burning. In 25 days of walking we saw 6 kangaroos when we expected to see thousands. We saw millions upon millions of fire killed trees. Large areas of what was rainforest had been destroyed. This area is one of the greatest environmental disasters I have ever seen and virtually all Austrlalians are totally unaware of its destruction. Some areas are now virtual desert with the topsoil destroyed.
