@JasonLee215 When the Genesis came out in the USA the NES had about 90% procent of the gaming market share and was playing monopoly thus the first few years Sega had some trouble getting the GEN into stores so I would think that 98% gamers brought the NES over the genesis till 1990.

The USA NES sales figure was alot higher than the GEN sales figure due to having no competition there, I think it was about 70 million units.

@JasonLee215 Indeed, The Master system and Amstrad CPC was a nice upgrade over previous machines like the C64, so people that hadn't enough money to buy the new 16 bit machines brought those two, the NES didn't came close to the success what the Master system had in Europe.

while having a superior product then the market leaders had no other choice but being assholes,

Like when SEGA introduced the Megadrive in america, gamers still where buying NES's instead of MD's,

till SEGA said "Nintendo is for lamers that would punch a dog !!, WE HAVE SONIC !!!" :)
