General Fonseka as the chief executive officer of future Sri Lanka
Nov 15 (LG) As a concerned person who has kith and kin in Sri Lanka I am impelled to write this. And let me state the bottom-line-up-front (BLUF); In the present times and circumstances Sri Lanka needs an uncorrupt and capable Chief Executive Officer with a vision, and a mission sanctioned by a vast majority to manage the country authoritatively than a Presidency, an administration, or a political system that thrives in a rough and tumble political atmosphere.

Senior United National Party (UNP) members have expressed their displeasure over General Sarath Fonsekas premature resignation. Highly placed sources told The Sunday Leader that the UNP leadership had adviced Fonseka against submitting his resignation letter to the President immediately and at least not until the President announced the dates for the presidential election

Rajapaksha Must Change His Buddies or Lose to UNA Fags
Dilrook Kannangara
Sri Lanka is cursed with megalomaniacs. One met his fate at the Mulaitivu lagoon and the other is in the making. For position and power a group of henchmen have surrounded the President poisoning his mind. Acting on their venom, President Rajapaksha makes irrational decisions. He must come to his senses before things go out of hand. People are not going to vote for Rajapaksha just because he won the war. They demand "what next"? If what Rajapaksha has in store is insanity, very few will want to make him the next president.

Has the President Created His Own Musharaff?
Prof. Hudson McLean
Insecurity through Fear of the Known, created the Story of Sigiriya! In this present case, no King was murdered and/or plastered into the wall. However, said that, President Rajapaksa did not award the due courtesy, respect and gratitude to the Foot Soldier who helped the Rajapaksa Kingdom to achieve the victory over the Tamil Tiger Terrorists LTTE, the Scum of Sri Lanka. The President did plaster the Good General in a humiliating manner!

ADVANTAGE LTTE
Ananda De Costa
How fast the game has changed ? Many pundits have predicted Sarath would lose the battle this time around, if he competes with Mahinda. But the fact is there is a great danger of Sri Lanka losing to LTTE again because of the eternal enemies of the universe, greed, hatred and illusion. Reading Saraths resignation, one could not fault him much; his frustration is justified , except that the ego and hatred clearly seen and in the last few lines he is caught trying to hide behind newly discovered compassion

Ranil: It looks inevitable to set the leadership selection process in motion
Nagananda Kodituwakku from London
The need of the hour is to have bold policy inventions by the UNP, paving way to install dynamic, honest, patriotic and magnanimous leader at a time no party has set an example to install a right person in the party leadership. This is the best opportunity to set the record straight and you, being the most incompetent leader in the recent history, are the best the person to take an initiative in the right direction because you have nothing to lose. On this particular issue, you can learn a lot to learn from other

Fonseka's claim without substance: Tharoor
Nov 15 (PTI) India today dismissed former Sri Lankan Chief of Defence Staff Sarath Fonseka's claim that its troops were put on alert at the instance of President Mahinda Rajapaksa following fears of a coup. United We Stand, Divided We Fall.
Sri Lankans must look to reunite General Sarath Fonseka and President Mahinda Rajapakse. We need to be united to combat the 5th Eelam war-Internationally. These two patriots have opened a new chapter in Sri Lankan history. Buddhist monks and JHU should not remain silence at this crucial moment when nation is going to be divided.
Perhaps considering a offer of Prime Minister/ Minister of Defence post to SF would be a win-win situation!
