Just curious, mpontheair... I've been playing this game through on an emulator, and haven't bothered to write down the stupid little "code letters" that purple fool with the horns gives you, even though I've made sure to visit ALL of the "?" rooms and "defeat" them...
Does it matter? :) I haven't gotten to the vault room yet.

You won't be able to get into the vault, then. You'll get a Game Over if you input the wrong code.
