I like it. I've liked it since I first heard it when the tribute album came out in 1995. Sorry that others don't like it, but then people tend to have strong reactions to Leonard Cohen's music, especially when someone else does it.

Bono have the balls to do something completely different than everyone else.
All others do it like Jeff Buckley or Leonard C.
You only know U2´s most popular songs,
Am I right?

This is such a bastardization....I want to throw up. It takes the almost prayer-like state of the words and makes them nearly irrelevant, and focuses on the arrangement....which is self-indulgent, and repulsive. At least Jeff Buckley's version gave respect to the reverence of the song. This is robs the song of it's essence. I vomit.

Bono is a racist and is anti-Jew? How do you come to this conclusion?
-
No, no Bono. Parliament debate? Fast Show parody? Voodoo?
Hardly Hallelujah. More like RIP.

Yes,yes, a million times yes ! Good job brother Bono !

AAAAAAAAAHHHhHhHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
!! I felt like I was given a lobotomy by Bono and tiny Tim! -
I appreciate the risk. The song works for me as a response to the original, but it's as moving or musical.

Awesome. Kind of reminds me of "Lemon" by U2.
THIS IS A VIOLATION OF COPYRIGHT LAWS. Leonard Cohen wrote this " Halleluyah" not this racist antisemitic Irish. It is too easy to attack Israel and then steal also the copyright. Moreover, the arrangement is disgusting. I played Halleluyah in Brussels, Paris, Tel Aviv and I always put the name of the divine poet Leonard Cohen. Do it. Do it.
