Here is my scratch built flight simulator control/instrument panel in action with LED's glowing. Approximately 300 hours and four months of labor were involved. Everything scratch built was; knobs, handles, trim wheel, structure, throttle quadrant, labels and decals - all built from hardwood, plywood, particle board which was cut, shaped, sanded, painted and then epoxied to protect it from constant usage. The only things not scratch built, were (naturally); the light emitting diodes, switches and of course the two control boards from www.desktopaviator.com. The tools used were; basic hand tools, my trusty drill and scroll saw. The whole thing works like a finely oiled machine. Thanks for watching!

  • The throttle is nice and interesting. How do u control the plane? U have no yoke or joystick

  • @TheSPilot Well, my original plans were to make a floor mounted flight stick with adjustable spring tension, but for now I just use a simple store bought joystick. I did however, modify some rudder pedals for use with flight simulator, so it has rudders now. Can't live without rudders. Eventually it will be an entire enclosed cockpit, with canopy and all. But I have a real airplane to finish first.
