Great, I remember this show dutifully dubbed into Spanish from the mid to late sixties, it was quite popular, there even was a bus doing the rounds in my rural town named "El Tiki" after Captain Troy´s ship.
Thanks for sharing.

I used to hunker down each week right after school to breathe in the life of Troy's Paradise. After graduating I joined the Coast Guard and was stationed in Honolulu. I remained in Hawaii and discovered Gardner McKay retired in Hawaii Kai . He used to paddle his kayak on the canal to a coffee shop each day. I tried to reach him by email before he passed away to say Thank you for pointing the way to Paradise. I also got to fulfill my dream of going to Tahiti. Thank you giving us this show. Aloha

The late fifties and early sixties... American television at it's best.

Always heard about this show, but never saw a clip from it until now. It was gone from TV before I was old enough to have seen and processed it in my mind. The show didn't get much syndication, as I recall. I always heard the line about "Whatever happened to Gardner McKay?", and of course that Jimmy Buffett line about "take me on the Leaky Tiki".
