My second cover of "Dreams", the first being uploaded in March 2008. Its taken that long to work out the slight nuances and details in tone, timing and emotion that have always made this one of my favorite guitar solos (Blue Sky would be tied for first). I'm happy with the results here...
Gregg wrote this when he returned from LA after trying to make it big in the music world, only to come back with his dreams broken. He then formed "The Allman Brothers", and Dreams was one of the first songs the band worked on together.
Thanks to Tom Cooke for providing the vocal soul ....the guitar solo is at its heart more a dialogue than a melody.
"Dreams" is played here on a Custom SG VOS, through Amplitube 3 and a backing track that I enhanced with a slight rhythm comp and other minor production embellishments.
