I've said elsewhere that this album--Sylk 130's "When the Funk Hits the Fan"-- was the last great black album of the 90s. I wandered into Tower Records in the spring of 1998 and saw this on one of the listening stations. I'd never heard of it, but reading the description got my attention. Scanning the CD, I heard some good stuff, but when THIS song came on, it stopped me in my TRACKS!!! This song alone made me by the album! Listeners are more familiar with its sister track "When the Funk Hits the Fan." This is essentially the same song...slowed down and re-examined from the perspective of, say, the cats at CTI records in the 70s...or perhaps Philly's own MFSB. ENJOY!!!
Another great track..props
