  • Sorry I am unable to put names on most people shown on the video. I was based in YUX 1987-1989 as base manager for nordair/canadian. The last pictures with a 227 fly by is the actual last flight performed by a nordair aircraft on the dew line. The dew line contract was then handed over to firstair. It was in 1988.

  • Big Al "The Hands" Willox - is that you at 2:28?? I worked for Nordair in the 1980's when most of these superb pictures were taken. We used to go north to the DEWline once or twice a year for a six week stretch to maintain the FH-227s. We were mostly based in Hall Beach, Cambridge Bay or Cape Parry waaaay in the west. We flew with the aircraft right from Alaska to Greenland during the day (and in the winter it was ALWAYS dark) then fixed them in the evenings. What an unforgettable time.

  • do these 227s still fly ?

  • What year were these pictures taken?
