Uhh, Guitar tech probably changed tuning before they started playing more six string songs. and this song doesn't sound much different in drop D anyway.

No, I watched a video from when they played Ascendancy and something went wrong with that guitar. I think a broken string... So, when it got restrung, it was tuned to standard. Because there was no point of tuning it to Drop D cause the next song they played in Dropped was Gunshot...

he's not he just raised the tuning back to E. All he had to do was raise the 6th string from D to E.
