Isese means Primordial but in this context is relating to the traditional rites of the Yoruba divinities, loosely referred to as Orisa.
The Oke Agboola Festival, has a deep and very interesting history telling of one ancient Babalawo from Egbado area who made a prediction upon his leaving earth, and a statement which is honoured annually to date, by hosting a festival on the top of a scared hill (believed to be the place he entered heaven upon leaving) called the Oke Agboola Festival.
High above the city, many prayers, rituals and offerings are made as scared rites, which results in many blessings to those who participate. The Oke Agboola, a part of the annual Isese Festival which honour the various Irunmole held in several major towns throughout Yoruba land annually. The Festivals of the Yoruba series video, this Oke Agboola is among the first, giving insight and desire to learn more. Explanations and further details will be given during the lecture held as Eko'Fa podcast to accompany this video on www.Alawoye.com, and I also suggest reading the blogs related to the various Irunmole. The Eko'Fa Podcast is for the serious Ifa student and interested researchers of Ifa / Yoruba thought systems.Vide highlights: appeasement, offerings, divination, song, dance and prayer through the recitation of scared Ifa stanzas, as ritual components.More details in podcast and follow up issue of video series lectures.Awoyinfa Ifaloju
do you understand where Islam came from? Understand that, then you will understand this. Allah may be one, but he has many aspects. the Allah of mercy is the same Allah who commands war and jihad. Eledumare is the one true God- Allah by a different name because of language. He just has many aspects. Don't get caught up in religion... embrace spirituality. Don't be like the Euros and Arabs who misinterpret the purpose of religion. Discipline, sacrifice of self, connection with God
