I can't help myself. Its so great to see this line. I always had trouble with that descending pentatonic run before the chorus. Now I see. The slapping in my opinion was a mistake. But hey its just my feel. But its part of history.

Did you use roundwounds or flatwound? I know Chuck Rainey used his Fender P strung with flats at that point.

what year is that bass? what system are you using? sounds great!

The bass is an all original Precision from 1966. Here I run the bass through a Korg Pandora PX4D with quite heavy compression to get a good attack when slapping (and in the plucked parts as well for that matter).
