Jake Swamp, Mohawk, or the People of the Longhouse/ Iroquois, shares part of the Journey of the Peace Maker. He is sharing this story at the 2007 Elders & Youth Gathering which was located on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana.

this is wonderful to hear jake swamp tell this great story...i really do wish that they would have not put in the singing in the background...or it could have been quieter...it is very distracting...and it's Seminole stomp dances...perhaps an Iroquois back track would have been more appropriate.

I met him ... back in the late 80's ... Jake if you see this ... I'm Lance Fallin (Little Man) if you remember Duane Nicholas, and Sylvester Mesteth. Duane Nicholas ... Little Pigeon and Grey Owl's son. Remember? we were at the gathering of the nations near Kansas City. We compared Mohawk and Cherokee words. I never forgot you. A-ho ... much respect sir, much respect.

Yeah man Jake Swamp is a Mohawk Elder I dont know much about him.. I know my Aunt Marina Is Datin Leonard Swamp.. Dont know the relation im fron Oneida Ontario.. I just wish more people would share these stories the way Jake would.

SEGO i believe jake swamp is a akwesasne chief,he is loyal to his people,clan mothers knew this.thats why he was chosen and elected,my grand mother was from akwesasne,she spoke highly of the keepers of the eastern gate.i miss her voice,,JAKE NYA-WEH,,,ONEN KI WAHI SEE YOU IN SARATOGA IN 2009!!
