I understand that not all soldiers are heroic but you shouldnt generalize all the soldiers to be cowards just by looking at some of them...and they might have other reasons for not swimming across the river. Soldiers have to absolutely abide by orders from their commanders, surely you know that they cannot act on their own?

Chinese soldiers are not so brave, sorry but its true! i was there in Sichuan, one of the first to get to wenchuan, and i was with about 300 soldiers who wouldnt even swim the river because the bridge was destroyed! but why? orders! and because they was tired...
I swam that river, with some other people! NOT soldiers... it took me about 2 hours, and after arriving in wenchuan, the next day the soldiers arrived! now if they did what i had done.

There is a natural disaster where thousands died and people take this opportunity to argue on here over country politics? GROW UP! My thoughts and prays to all the men, women, and children who died in this earthquake and to all their loved ones.
