Why do all the kings and queens always have these sick sadistic tendencies to torture humans? That is NOT normal human behavior! I dont believe that it was all due to "sudden madness" I am certain there is something we dont know about the royal familyes, or maybe it's something that their purposely not telling us, I just cant put my finger on it...

They talk about Ivan's conversion to monk-hood like it was ironic, but actually the majority of Russian leaders before him did the same.

@THE1PAINOF1THE1GAME One on one, Vlad will win since, Vlad's got more experience in hand to hand combat given by his dad. Skills similar to that of Genghis Kan, this Couch potato Ivan will stand no chance against this blood drunk warlord. Ivan would much rather bark orders and watch his minions kill people for his own pleasure than to fight his own opponents one on one. This is like comparing an athlete to a thinking couch potato.

Let's see Ivan the Terrible VS. Vlad the Impaler

Ivan the Terrible the founder of the Russian state. He's not better and not worse than other monarchs of those times.

@alpointru You mean they were all serial killers in power, right ?

Besides having a few paranoid despots running their country, throughout history Russia has had to endure invasions by the Cumans, Mongols, Swedes, Teutonic Knights, Tatars, Poles, Turks, and Germans, I think the Russian people have suffered enough.
Ivan IV Groznyj - it is executed about 5000 boyars and members of their families, clergy and other.
Henry VIII - it is hung up 72 000 tramps and beggars in England.
Charles V and Phillip II - about "heretics" 100 000 executed or died under tortures in the Netherlands (1547-1584)
Charles IX - on August, 23rd, 1572 it has been brutally killed more than 3 thousand Huguenots only in Paris.
Total in Spain, France, Netherlands, England during the same times executed 300 000-400 000 persons.
