Reason vs. Race-based Schools (Pt 3 of 3)

Part 3 of 3 parts.

On January 24, 2008, Freedom Party leader Paul McKeever was a guest of "On the Line", a live call-in talk show on Crossroads Television (CTS) hosted by Christine Williams.

The one hour program focussed primarily on a proposal by the Toronto District School Board to launch an "Afrocentric" school for "Blacks" in Toronto, as a three year pilot project.

On January 29, 2008, the TDSB adopted the proposal. A debate is now raging about racism, segregation, and education.

McKeever condemns the proposal, and proposes, instead, that all children need to learn how to make rational valuations of people, ethics, and things.

The principal (black male) of St. Patrick High School fought to have an all black school in Halifax, N.S.

He said "White teachers do not meet the needs of black students" and "White teachers do not understand or respect black culture" and "Black students have a lower grade average because of white teachers"

It couldn't be because their "culture" promotes racism, violence, and ignorance... No, not at all. It's white people's fault that they commit 90% of all violence in the school system.

I was mystified by your "socialist university" comment so I did some exploring. We don't seem to have any "socialist universities" in Canada, but if anyone is interested I found this: SOCIETY FOR SOCIALIST STUDIES/SOCIÉTÉ D'ÉTUDES SOCIALISTES

Also, I found something about a "national socialist university" and suspect you meant that instead. They did a lot of "studies" on racist theory and euthanasia.

I'll quote Wikipedia on the subject of human racial types: "Today most scientists study human genotypic and phenotypic variation using concepts such as "population" and "clinal gradation". Many contend that while racial categorizations may be marked by phenotypic or genotypic traits, the idea of race itself, and actual divisions of persons into races, are social constructs." I'm not denying human variation, I'm denying the pigeonholing of your own cousins. I might even be related to you. Ew.

I believe socialism is a function of political science, as you mentioned. I have several anthropology textbooks, one of them political anthro. And they use the term "culture" where you're applying the term "race". I've taken courses in physical, socio-cultural, indigenous Canadian anthro, and some art history. Different profs. Didn't mention race. Maybe they didn't meet your majority.
