In response to multiple conversations had by a few YouTubers, I have decided to make a video talking to my experience as a Gastric Bypass patient. I am 6 years post-op in June of this year, and I have lost around 200 pounds. I started at 348, and ended at 150. The reason for my weight gain throughout childhood and early adulthood was an acute addiction to food. This video details a bit about my experience in dealing with the addiction after surgery and how I make choices now after nearly 6 years after surgery. Feel free to comment or post video responses.

  • Hey! Thanks for stopping by. I'm glad you had a chance to see my video. It was kind of made bigger than it should have been, but I think that if you talk about it and get it out in the open, you can really get people talking about the core issues. Good work!

  • I'm so glad you did this video. It was interesting. Thanks.

  • I have a few thoughts and questions after watching all of your videos...But PLEASE don't get mad or offended cause I am happy that u feel great and u look awesome.I was wondering how u feel about your surgery since u LOVE food so much, do u think u are pretty much cheating yourself by eating all these goodies yet ur still losing weight because of your surgery.I don't know if this makes sense at all.Like I am absolutely very happy for you that you lost weight cause I am trying to lose weight too.

  • is surgery the only way to loose that much weight b.c i would like to loose like 100 pounds but i can't afford surgery...

    thankss

  • What an outstanding video & an outlook upon it all.U've stated truthful issues & facts here.I hope u don't mind I'm certainly marking this as a fav video it hit home alot.I'm getting ready Jan 2009 for my 1st appt. in NY.Then all my tests back in Canada. Then hopefully 6-8 wks later I'll have my surgery to.I can't wait(knowing)there's alot to it,alot of pain, but I want this badly to improve my health,my life, become a new person, most of all for my family (my kids) & I want to live longer.

  • see. like its a lifelong struggle with food. it sucks. it makes me discourage enough to not want to try so hard. im a lazyish person so the thought that it never ends brings me down alot! what couldnt my mom just tell me no!! god! i was always chubby and it sucks. now im happy cuz i have a fiance. he has had the same problems too. but its bad that we are too comfortable with our weight that we might be slow to getting healty. he hates most vegetables by the way. so it will b hard for us 2gether

  • After so many years post op, do you see any "problems" having cropped up due to the rny? We have been discussing being informed and also articles about people that are having some really bad problems years after the surgery. Just wondering?

  • Thank you so much for your candidness! You are an inspiration. I have been considering the Lap Band procedure. Your thoughts? I know that you are a very busy person. And if you don't have time to respond, that's okay@

    Blessings

  • Hi, I weigh 276lbs and I am seriously looking into lap band surgery. Just curious, Did you think about having the band done at any time? Why did you choose Gastric Bypass? I hope you don't mind me asking. I'm just not sure if the band would be enough. I am alittle confused and alittle apprehensive.
