There's nothing like NY ....and Woody the Wizard captures its essence better than anyone else.

wish I would have gone to Elaine's when traveling to NYC. How I wish I could go now! These kinds of places are a thing of the past I am afraid...very sad.

I fell for this movie after seeing this opening scene! I just adore it...... Would have loved to have gone to Elaine's before it closed. *sigh*

it's nothing to do with social classes...maybe physicality shouldn't matter in love but it's naive to pretend that it does not...people tend to like attractive people and good-looking people tend to gravitate towards each other...

if that's true, then why is it a rarity to see a really smokin' hott girl with an ugly guy....especially one who's not rich??

I agree with the comment about Hemmingway's voice. So lovely. And her personality also seems so sweet. Interestingly, she doesn't seem to be "acting".
Where is she now?

what a bunch of crap that dude with the glasses is spewing...yikes...upper west side liberals...all stuck on themselves...this is the part of the movie where I liked Woody Allen's character..before he quit his good job and dumped his cutie-pie...he's such a nebbish..I don't even care about the age difference but it blows my mind that he's such an ugly bastard and this gorgeous young girl would date him...oh, well..it's Woody Allen's movie he can delude himself if he wants that she would like him
