Okay, it's not the absolute first play, I had to set the arm weight and all of course. Anyway, this is a classy German Marching Songs record I picked up at an antique store. It's just for fun, besides the fact that I'm mostly German by blood. Anyway, irrelevant. The speakers are an old set of Allied picked up for stupid cheap at Goodwill, a 10" sub in a ported box just because I had it laying around and at low volumes it doesn't stress the receiver. There are also a couple old Audiobahn tweeters sitting around just for chuckles.. I found them while moving some stuff. They've definitely seen better days. The receiver is a NAD 7220 PE, also picked up from Goodwill. Now, I know this isn't an amazing setup. I'm not trying to play off like an audiophile right now, this is a setup that will grow. The main focus was to get a good turntable that won't destroy records. Up next will likely be a new set of speakers, then new cart and stylus, and then hopefully a new receiver. But who knows, this stuff costs money to do for real. ;)
