Baby Shambles was founded by Pete Doherty after his departure from The Libertines in 2004. This early concert from September that year, was filmed at the Ritz in Manchester and features tracks that would appear on their debut album "Down In Albion", released a couple of months later.
This live performance is taken from the Eagle Vision DVD, "Up The Shambles".

@communistpumpkinman I know what you mean... He is quite chubby for a junkie... He's skinny, but fat for a junkie. Love this. Patrick Walden is one of the most original guitarists around. Without him, "Down in Albion" is nothing.

first time i saw Babyshambles was on this tour at Cardiff Uni.small intimate venue when he was Pete from the Libs n nobody really knew what was guna happen however it was 1 of the most memorable gigs iv ever been to and they blew the roof off the place! and The Paddingtons in support!! brilliant gig!

@Satanicm0nk Hi - I agree 100%! I guess if something good had to come from the original sad fallout of the Libs... think of all of the greats we got to know thru Babyshambles, DPT etc... All good folks that we might have missed out on. Can you imagine one BIG concert with all of them playing together?! So many of their songs are tied together in one way or another... The DREAM band! Woo Hoo!

Everyone always talks about how Pat leaving killed the band. Just imagine what it's going to be like if Drew leaves. He's been just as important in the Babyshambles sound as Pat & Gemma.

Can't believe they got rid of that guitarist - he defined their sound. He had a very original style.
