Thanks also to the guy who posted this. I have had look at quite a number of Shah's books. Re the ford dealers, in Britain it is remarkable how much a politician can be seen as concerned with the evironment simply by being filmed riding a bicycle. See episodes one and six of Armando Ianucci's Time Trumpet (currently on Youtube) to illustrate. Obviously not every single person is taken in by this but I am one of the people who was.
