Make sure the surface the drive is on is flat and not touching anything. I had a Lacie next to another one, both with Aluminum case and the noise was annoying. If the noise is internal, then I would back up data just to be safe.

@sdschramm i bet all that shakin at 1:00 broke it man hahaha

Well, I can tell you hitting it wouldn't solve it. That's.... not a very... err... smart thing to do. Anyway, the rattling in that hard disk is bad bearings. That can cause the head to crash.

@foelde Back-up the data!

Had the same problem, shoudl have backed up that crap.
RIP Porche Lacie 500 GB

I got a new computer like 3,5 months ago
(check my channel for video's and deatails)
A WD caviar green HD
It makes a rattling noise when i start the computer
when it wakes from hibernation or sleep it doesnt rattle
it only rattles from a fres windows boot
Should i be worried?

It hurts so bad when you hit it to the floor.
Like, i know you know it was already broken but still, the pain!

@MYsterYmarcus I know, but this drive was already dead and then it would just rattle.
