Just watched this last night. I love Danny Kaye for his humor, as well as his wonderful singing voice. I do love the songs with the tongue twisters too. I have this on my DVR, and the commentary from TCM said it was a box-office flop. Hard to believe, since it features some of the funniest stuff Danny ever did.

Actually, I've seen a number of Danny Kaye's other movies, but this is the only one I own, because in my opinion, it's some of his best work.
As old as this film is, it's absolutely hysterical. Guess this proves that you don't need to be trashy or curse your head off to do comedy.
I knew it all along.

I've loved this movie ever since I was a kid! Hardly anyone my age remembers it but I've always remembered the "vessel with the pessel" routine! LOL. Hard to believe this film was a flop when it originally came out but it's so loved today and is a classic. Danny Kaye's comic genius is absolute perfection here! Always makes me smile whenever I catch it on TV.

always loved this clip, Danny was a master at these lines, people now a days really missed out on a great comic...I am sure that Robin, Billy and many more comics learned from him....God bless him always....I think I had a crush on him when I was young, soooo wonderful...xoxoxo
