I was watching a video tribute about an athlete on here and heard this song. I'd never heard it before but after I heard it, I had to find out who it was. It's a really beautiful song, and the lyrics speak to me.

back at a time when living in New York meant being exposed to all forms of music, I first heard this record. don't know how it is up there now, but it sure is refreshing to hear this gem again.

@sgrantla: Same here: This "I'm Coming Back" was one my favorite songs from Lalah Hathaway's first album. I used to listen to it before bedtime when I was in high school, my "Quiet Storm" music.. I thought she had the greatest voice--and, at the time, I didn't have any idea who Donny Hathaway was. I was right!
