This 'feeling of life' in the body, of which Eckhart speaks, is the 'resurrection of the body' spoken of by the early Christians. In our normal state the body is 'dead', with no feeling of life in it. When the thymus gland reactivates, an energy flows from a point under the breastbone, thro' the body, enlivening it. This cannot be grasped by the egoic mind, which thinks it is already alive.
