What's w/the "Copyright 1998"? Serpent Isle is >5 years older than that

Denis Loubet, one of the game developers, published the uncut, unreleased intro (which is different from the released one) in 1998 with this footnote: "Copyright 1998. Origin Systems Inc".

What I did was to fill the holes in this unreleased intro with the scenes, sounds and subtitles of the actual game. To make things "more natural", I included this footnote in all scenes as well.
