http://www.therenegadehealthshow.com - You might be wondering why we're getting ready so early...

The Raw Spirit Festival is in less than two weeks, but we're going to visit my grandfather for his 90th birthday in Pittsburgh, then flying out to Sedona from there.

Sooo.... we need to plan now!

We're excited to be traveling so much, but we're also very careful to make sure that we plan because sometimes (if you don't) you'll end up eating less optimally than you'd like...

Today's show is a lot of fun (or at least we had fun making it!), go ahead and have a laugh or two...

  • bring some avocado, sea salt, and lemons, and then make dandelion/clover salads fresh from the ground. :) sooo good.

  • hmmm... now you got me thinkin' :-)

  • I had the same deal going on in the same locations. I came to the nut conclusion too.

  • It's so weird to have acne, even if it's just for a couple of weeks! I'm glad to hear that you've taken care of it too... I think it's the quality of the cashews, not necessarily the cashews themselves. I've had high quality ones and nothing has happened, but when I have lower quality I usually get stomach issues. So this is just an extension of those issues... on my face. :-)

  • Aww...I was loving the longer hair--but you're cute with it shorter, too. ;-) I don't know what the heck cupies was saying--you are FAR from creepy, Kevin! :-P

I'm debating about bringing my VitaMix on the plane to Raw Spirit Fest, or not. I'm hoping since it's a raw festival there will be a lot of raw foods available. But, maybe Sedona will sell out of all fresh foods with so many of us there?! LOL

    See you soon!

Lots of love to both of you!

    Wendi

    XOXOXO

  • Wendi, I'd bring it... there might be massive lines for food at the event...... :-)

  • Your acne was probably caused by your hair. If you're gonna have long hair and get sweaty, make sure you keep it in a clip or something away from your face until you can clean it.

  • Do you sprout or soak the cashews? That may be the problem. I don't know..

  • Have fun! Hmmm... maybe you guys should throw in some spirulina in there... wheat grass powder?

  • Longer hair over the brow can cause breakouts, also did you change your shampoo? That could have caused breakouts.

Maybe something on your hands i.e. new soaps etc and then mopping your brow with your hands.

It isn't always something you have eaten, you can get breakouts for loads of reasons.

  • There ya' go. Missing the hair. Hope you have a great time in Sedona.

  • Hi,

I was going to say the Walnut Pate and then you said it first. Oh, how great minds think alike.

It was the first raw food recipe I made. And I've made it several times since. I've shared it with friends. I made it yesterday. My family asks for it often.

Yes, that's what you should take.

  • I always carry an emergency stash of nuts, gogi berries, and Inca berries in my purse. It has saved me many times. And I make up a container of my salad dressing (EVOO and lemon juice, herbs, salt and pepper) with some seeds (hemp or sunflower) so that if I eat a meal out I can have a big salad and be satisfied. In my locker at work I keep a jar of the Simply Raw honey which has royal jelly and propolis in it. A spoonful of that is a quick pick-me-up. Thanks, and have fun!
