Wasn't this the pre-Tom Hingley version? I think the singer went on to the Rainkings, and Tom Hingley took over on vocals.

i may be wrong but was this John Peel's single of the year, 1989? He wasn't often wrong about good tunes. RIP JP. Funny people on here talking about how much they paid for carpets tunes, i have plancecrash ep, trainsurfing and many more on vinyl, and they have no monetary value to me as i could never sell them! still have the price sticker from piccadilly records on Trainsurfing too!!!

I can't believe it was 20 years..OMG..top days. I was 16 & mad for Clint..He was cool as fuck and so nice & used to put me on all the guest lists : ) I still have a big bundle of letters he wrote to me when I left Manc - to go 'On the road' hey Sal...happy daze x apple pie & ice cream & strong black coffee
