@ranzbak Ah, that's too bad. I'm in Michigan, where there are probably more guns than people (yet I do not own one; not for or against them though). If I ever manage to acquire a broken Model M, I will have to remember this experiment, and see if I can get someone to shoot at it. lol

@xamboozi they were 10 euro's a few years ago.. and this keyboard did not function correctly .. so .. I wouldn't do the test with a working model M, obviously.

I wonder if Unicomp would still be able to fix 'em up....
And yes, while it does suck that they're wrecking them a bit, it's in the name of science. Namely, we want to know whether an IBM Model M can be used to kill a man. Now, we know we can if the need arises (zombie apocalypse?!). I've heard they can deflect bullets too, due to the steel plate inside. But that test is for another day (and hopefully a completely DEAD Model M).
BTW, typing this right now on my own Model M. :3

@SigEpBlue Hmm guns are illegal in the Netherlands, so the deflecting of bullets can't be tested here I'm afraid...
