its not the teaser trailer *rolls eyes* its the documentary of where D-9 Was based from.
its amazing how much story were the script writers able to get out of this short film.

I suggest you look up Alive in Joburg on wiki. They have a link to a 2006 article about the Halo movie they wanted him to direct, because they saw this vid... Which was released in 2005. They swtiched it from Halo to a full length version of this story, and that's leads us to District 9. It started in 2005. Nice try, though.
Even if this were Viral marketing, why should people care?

Actually this film was made in 2005 as a standalone short film. The District 9 feature film is based on this.
