The robots use the guitar's pickup to determine the string's pitch. You choose your tuning with the gray knob then strum. The tuning pegs will move on their own.

My Digitech pedal Acoustic setting sounds much more like a real acoustic guitar than that "robot" axe.

it would tune it by 'ear' through a mic or something along those lines

does the tuners have set memorys for tuning the guitar to different keys because the strings stretch dont they?
