Deborah Van Kleef performs her song, "I Changed My Name to Mary Burke," a song based on a Depression era story her Aunt Oma wrote down in her eighties. "Mary Burke" is included on Deborah's new CD, Work in Progress (http:cdbaby.com/cd/deborahvankleef). In an intro, Deborah explains how the song came about, and about the hard times setting of a tale of difficult choices, anti-Semitism, sexism, and bittersweet endurance. Seth Rosen (Sethro) and Gene Epstein accompany, in this performance at Loganberry Books in Cleveland, Ohio. They are members of Gene's Jazz Hot.
