We;re thinking about beating this guy out of this 1943 Jeep, made by Ford during World War 2.. Most were made by Willys Jeep, and a very few by Bantam Motors, but these Fords seem to be hard to find.. We're not sure about the knocking sound, without dropping the oil pan for a closer inspection, and that's not possible right now.. Any ideas what the noise is. piston slap, wrist pin, rod knocking, or something else?

  • I have no idea what it could be. My 1990 ford ranger does it sometimes if it has been cold in the past few days.

  • One bad lifter

  • good to see you post again how is the bus coming along?

  • lifter leaking down bad, until high revs give it oil presure.

  • NO its just a DIESEL hahahaha

  • Sounds like rod bearings too me. Pop some new bearings in and call it good if the crank us fine...
