It's time for show #5 in my 12 Games of Christmas countdown. Today, you'll see a February 1978 episode of the original $25,000 Pyramid hosted by game show icon Bill Cullen!

In this episode (off a WLIG rerun), celebs June Lockhart (from Lost in Space and the first week ever of Pyramid) and Soupy Sales (who gave my dad plenty of good times with his show as a kid) will try to help Jim and Cheryl win a lot of money. Let's see if it happens, though.

  • One other thing: Soupy's face was priceless (and the others) starting about 21:42.

  • You've got that right on all accounts.

  • These have been a great treat, especially now with the full-length uploads. Thanks for sharing!

  • Your welcome.

  • This must have been taped in 1977 because the set had an orange background behind the giant pyramid set. It would change to blue starting around January 2, 1978 I assume.

  • @bluebear1985: I thought about that too.

Another good clue for that one would have been Brinkley; that one I think would have won the contestant the big money.

  • This show was aired on Los Angeles TV Station KNXT-TV Channel 2 Saturday, February 4, 1978 at 7:30 pm.

  • Oh, we get a very rare glimpse at Bill Cullen's crazy limp right at the very start! interesting!

  • 1. Thanks for posting. 2. I just figured out that Bill must have started walking (albeit slowly, polio I think?) to get to the winner's circle while they were winning the second game, doesn't look like they stopped the camera. 3. I appreciate Bill Cullen the more I watch him.

  • @tpir1972 Lockhart had made a number of appearances on the show between the show's premiere and this episode.

And as of 12/19/11, she is still alive.

  • Is that Junke Lockhart's first appearance since the daytime show premiere in 1973, and is June still alive?

  • Hmmm...Famous Davids.....I wonder why you picked this one???

Giveaway clue for top answer in second WC: D-sized breasts.
