The feature-length documentary The End of Poverty? won critical acclaim at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival and is narrated by actor Martin Sheen. It is a daring, thought-provoking and very timely documentary by filmmaker Philippe Diaz. The film takes a hard look at world poverty and challenges capitalism and the American way. In a world of plenty, why are so many families around the planet still living in abject poverty? Looking beyond the popular "solutions" for poverty, The End of Poverty? asks if the true causes of poverty today stem from a deliberate orchestration of resource misallocation started in colonial times.

amen basic economics this shit is socialist although i do think the government should provide more for the poor this movie is pushing for a future that will never happen in a modern economic world
Such a controversial movie, they're really pushing the envelope and sending us a message I think we all need to hear. Poverty is not caused from people being lazy, it's caused because the fucking government takes all their money and resources so they can make fucking castles and guns, while evryone else is just trying to survive with what they have. There will NEVER be even distribution of wealth because the ones who have it all, always want more.
@tranceire If I understand you correctly your saying that all people that think like BLEAKFACTS should die? Then I question your "years of philosophizing" that is irrational. I don't believe it is the wealthy's fault poverty exists in the world. It is not Bill Gates fault that a man living in poverty can't feed his family. Why would a man who lives in poverty have 6 kids? (This too is irrational)
There is no honor today and all are blind to the evil, money changers hold on everyone as slaves. In a system of HONOR each toils and keeps his produce (the definition of REPUBLIC) but today we have the Elite running a supposed DEMOCRACY and creating money with the stroke of a pen instead of their 'labor'. It will only end in ruin until the slumbering giant (the people) wake up and realize We are SOVEREIGN. ronintruth(dot)blogspot(dot)co m
Selling and buying stocks does not control the economy. The economy is controlled by what products or services people buy. Without free trade their would be no economy. You have a job?your friends have jobs? That's their freedom to produce and trade their produce.Third world countries have their freedom taken from them by their government. How can you claim you know anything about economics when you claim basic economics don't exist.(i.e. free trade)
