@squingy Crayon Solipsism? ;-) he seems to greatly enjoy his powers of drawing things into existence, there is no despair here. ( Though some might find it? ) And the other beings are implied to exist ( Though they don't react. ) Very interesting story here, conceptually, and perfect re-assembled soundtrack.
Note the fact that the train tracks continue on beyond the point where he had drawn them. ;-)

what a sad story.... harold, stuck in this hellish realm, never able to return to the real world. not another soul in sight. just him, his thoughts, and a purple crayon. harold is clearly deep in denial... he tries to recreate his childhood bedroom, which he can never see again.... stay strong, harold, stay strong.
