Two 1970 AMXs Battle it Out

When George Romney, father of conservative Presidential candidate Mitt, ran American Motors, he wanted it be a conservative (no surprise) sensible company that built low-cost, fuel efficient small cars. Well, by the 1970s no one wanted those so the failing company jumped onto the Muscle Car bandwagon with the AMX.

@AndyJrad0323 That's just how far the speedometer went -- it was probably done in anticipation of the 1979 law requiring reduced read out speedometers to lower driving speeds. I read somewhere that the top speed, with the 258, was around 104 mph, pretty fast by any standard!
