the ramen is not red. american ramen..never tried any but i never expected it to be very good. maybe i'll try some next time.

It's not the more formal kind of soft ramen you buy at some Asian stores, but it is indeed instant ramen. There isn't really just one kind of ramen anyway, there are several regional varieties.

The way I pull the noodles to my mouth is actually considered to be the more polite way in much of Asia. Slurping is also messy and would splatter and waste the essential broth. That would be sacrilege.
