  • I hope to someday see this design put into use. Very well thought out and damn cool if a may say so.

  • Thanks!

  • Dare I ask what happens if this ship flies under a cloud?

  • it keeps flying on battery power. When the battery drains a bio-diesel generator kicks in. When the bio-diesel runs out it will not crash but rather glide down gently, much slower then an ordinary jet would

  • Lol @ the idea of a solar panel producing enough energy to create enough lift to even lift itself, let alone a gigantic "boat".

  • don't forget that in contrast to modern aircraft in this type of "hybrid airship" the lift is generated mostly by lighter-than-air gas. The solar panels only provide the forward thrust, and additional lift is generated by the wings.

  • airship's was a first big flying thing's

a first airship build by ussr

but then nazi's use them to war

but nazi's airship not so big like ussr airship when ussr fall down and nazi's not win everyone forgot how to build them

only ussr know's but they forget when ussr fall down. but soon or later we ell not need airship no more

because we well have spaceship's =D

  • Nice! I'd totally buy a ticket for one, had there been one for commercial use.

  • Damn Nazis and their hindenburg! They soiled the good name of airships!

I would welcome waking up to see these ships clouding the sky!

  • @utterbullspit

I had the same idea, but it might explain the relatively short wings if it was a hybrid ekranoplane.

  • Useless. Null resistance to side wind, a person that designed it is an artist. Go designing twisted homes, it will work better.

  • A Modern zeppelin eh? Yeah, I like it. :-)

The question is: Would this design actually work in practice? I bet the design contains some few overlooked flaws that you'll only discover by testing a real model (a smaller version of the airship in a wind tunnel). But I idea is nice regardless!

  • Dear All,

I have some questions about psychology:

    (1) Why do we love flying?

    (2) Why do we want to design new airship in this "jet-age"?

    (3) What is the enjoyment to fly airship as a pilot and as a passenger?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

    P.S. Nice design!!

  • Does it really fly that low?
