    thx for the comment

  • Yes, you are right it is "En Thilakathin Sinduram". I heard it wrong and knowing Bhaskaran's penchant for metaphors, I hastily concluded this as yet another metaphor. If it is "Sinduram" from nails, it is "Nakhakshthangal" a convoluted metaphor indeed! Remember the lines from movie Venkalam - "Aarattukadavinkal Arakkoppam Vellathil, Peraattil Pularmanka Neeraattinirangi; Chemponnin Cheppukudam Kadavattu Kamazhthi"! The lovely metaphor of rising sun to cheppukudam. Here it is simple "Simile".

  • yes, it is some sort of a simile, Radha is asking her friends which one is more beautiful, "moovanthi Choppuniram" on the cheeks of the sky or 'Ente thilakathinte sindooram ' on the cheeks of Vanamali.

Indeed, lyrics from P Bhaskaran are always wonderful and his penchant for metaphors (and similes) are noteworthy. Those are so apt, so beautiful and so meaningful

  • Thank you for uploading this beautiful song from "Ashtapadi" by Maestro P. Bhaskaran. Yesudas who has a wide range of voice always choose the appropriate tone for the song depending on the character of the person for whom he is singing. He chose a bass - a male singing voice of a low pitch for this song. The words "Manathin Poonkavilil, Moovanthi Choppuniram; Vanamali thankavilil Ente Nakhathin Sindooram" are typical Bhaskaran "Metaphor"! Thanks again for uploading this song!!

  • isn't it "En Thilakathin Sindooram"?
