Interactive cap tables and dynamic waterfalls give investors the ability to know their portfolios cash on cash potential intimately and instantly.
In Liquid Scenarios Search2Model, you can simply use your up and down arrow to browse through interactive payout models for every portfolio company you have an interest in.
But unlike thumbnail image previews you might see in a browser, each of the returns, financing rounds and investor outcomes you see here are interactive and dynamic.
So, for instance, you can select a group on co-investors as a balloon item, and slide them across a founders hypothetical payout chart to see exactly how each investors mix of securities results in different return outcomes at each potential exit value.
So in this hypothetical example we choose the portfolio company ChannelAdvisor and slide a group of funds, NEA, ATV and SC Ventures from left to right giving us a detailed, interactive look into investor potential without altering the source file our fund accountant, analyst or CFO created.
We can even add a bridge note, financing round or secondary sale the company is considering all from the same dynamic interface simply by clicking a couple of buttons, again without altering the source file.
For instance, we right click on the interactive cap table and select Add New Convertible Debt and are presented with a quick entry form to say the amount of the bridge, interest rate, warrant coverage and discounts, if any.
Seconds later we have a precise estimate of what the cash on cash impact of that new bridge would be on our fund, on the founder and on every other party that has an equity or debt interest in the venture backed company.
So to recap, simply go to the Tools menu item and select Search 2Model. Next, choose My companies as the source and then simply use your up and down arrows to dynamically browse interactive models of any company in your portfolio or on your radar.
