You can solve the issue upgreading the phone with froyo or only the modem part with one of the last releases .
And for the IPhone... it's an hardware problem.
-
so for those had this problem....how to fix it? Will Samsung replace its defective phone? it is under warranty? And how? Call T-Mobile ?
-
I had exactly this problem, I find out i had this problem with my Galaxy S T959 from T-Mobile. That is why I Google to see if any one have this issue, not to see this video first to test on the phone. So now it seems not affecting all Galaxy S owners, but to those who had signal loss when holding it in the bottom of the phone ( this is the natural way to hold cell phone, who is going to hold it on the top few inches ? ), it is very hard to hold the phone on the top without touching the power..,

I own one and Im on uscellular I have tested it a week and it never has 3g reception or wifi something is wrong.

samsung Galaxy S: antennagate, design flaw, shitty phone, iphone 4: all 3 mentioned + Way too overpriced
-
I have a Galaxy S and the reception often shows as 2 or 3 bars, hardly ever 4 bars (I'm on Tesco network)!

maybe it's because you're livin in america but here on holland there's no problem with the signal bar and just like the iphone you guys squeeze it to death(grip)
